My company sent me to Manhattan for more than three months in the summer of 2002. I'd long been wanting to see New York, and what an amazing opportunity, getting paid to be there and having all my expenses reimbursed! I had some amazing food, a great time skating and running around Central Park, and spent way too much time on the subway and in cabs. All in all a fantastic experience, I highly recommend it if you can get yourself the same situation.
