Eighteen degrees is what my thermometer read when I woke up for this late-December bike ride. It took a lot of willpower to leave my house that morning, but it was worth it. Every year someone organizes a ride for Rick's birthday, usually only a few people brave the cold and make it. This year was a ride of Mt Herman Road, just outside of Monument, Colorado. The clouds were thick, but we managed to climb above them (and they cleared up for the descent). It was cold, but with all the exercise going on just about all my body parts warmed up nicely (except for my feet, I'm going to look for neoprene booties this week for sure...)
