We hiked up the South Mount Elbert Trail to the summit. Along the way we encountered blazing heat and a white-out that spit snow and grapple at us. Going to the summit took us 4.5 hours, coming back down took 1.5 hours. And it was 4,000 vertical feet of climbing. The view from Colorado's highest peak (at 14,433 feet) however is simply stunning.
