Snowshoeing Lost Lake 2005

This trail is a lot longer in winter...

With the long holiday weekend Jane and I thought it'd be a good time to get out and snowshoe. Thumbing through the Snowshoeing Colorado book we picked the Lost Lake trail. The total distance from the car to the lake was 2.8 miles, but we didn't make good speed since there was also 900 foot of climbing (and at 10,000 foot altitude no less.) Still the day was sunny and while the beginning of the trail didn't have enough snow to need shoes (it was mostly packed, so we didn't put our snowshoes on until the Hessie town site) the day did turn out great. Followed it up with an early dinner in Boulder and headed home...
