The shabu-shabu dinner was similar to what I know as fondue. A pot of boiling water was placed in front of us on a hotplate, food was added and cooked in front of you (Andy ordered me a beef dinner, with freshly shaved beef on a plate, just pop it in the water, wait a few minutes, and chow down!)
