Building a Home Climbing Wall

Hard Work with a Payoff

I'd been thinking about building a climbing wall for some time. I even went so far as to buy the holds in January of this year. Greg came over and we finally got started in July. It came together fairly well, especially since we used a simple design. The wall itself is 11 feet wide by 8 feet high. Not the biggest, but certainly good enough to get your arms pumped from making a series of moves! To commemorate the building of the wall I held a "climbing holds party" where I supplied food, but everyone was expected to bring a hold to add to the wall. This worked well, I have enough holds now for a full route (and some bonus moves as well!)
