Jane got me a hot air balloon ride for my birthday this year. In order to get favorable conditions we had to get up extremely early in the morning (we had to be in North Boulder at 5:45am) and get to the launch site. It was worth it however, the day ended up being perfect with the wind the right direction, no rain, and great cloud structures to watch. We launched from North Boulder, and ended up drifting into Longmont. While we did initially land in a ditch we got the balloon up in to the street of a new subdivision, which made for easier packing up. Our ride was performed by Fair Winds Hot Air Balloon Flights and I would recommend them without reservation. Our pilot, Jeff, was very enthusiastic and fun.
