How NRA’s true believers converted a marksmanship group into a mighty gun lobby

Once upon a time I was an NRA member (when I first got my concealed carry permit). I realized quickly those people are insane and I want nothing to do with them - if someone got a speeding ticket they'd scream that somehow that meant the government was trying to take their guns away.
