A year or so ago I found my Dell laptop power supply failing while I was on a trip to Atlanta (the power supply wasn't actually bad, just the ID wire inside, long story short fuck Dell and their proprietary power supplies.) So I went to Fry's and picked up a Lenmar multi-purpose power supply. It's modular with tips that work with different manufacturers laptops. A couple months ago I repurposed an older HP laptop as a "guest machine" for anyone who comes to my house but it had a bad power supply so I started using the Lenmar.
Unfortunately my girlfriend's daughter set it down on the couch in such a way that all of the pressure was on the tip where it goes into the back of the laptop, breaking it off. I looked around a bit online but couldn't find a source for tips and was convinced that I'd end up having to buy a whole new power supply. Turns out I was wrong - I emailed Lenmar support to ask where to buy tips and they replied (quickly I might add) that they'd be happy to sell them to me directly for $5 each (shipping included!) I'd just need to either reply with my credit card details or call them. One quick call later and they shipped me two replacements for $10, and they showed up at my door three days later.
So big props to Lenmar, it's not often that you get service like that (nor even the option to buy parts for something like that) much less how fast and easy it was.
