New life from leftovers, a great MeFi discussion on using leftover food to grow more food (obviously they mean vegetables, not meats...) I currently have a basil plant that came from a cutting (I soaked it in a glass of water until some roots formed then I tossed that into a pot with some dirt.) I can't say it's growing huge but it's not dying and once it gets back on it's feet I'll have basil for the winter...
On a related note, I went to Ikea yesterday looking for the fixings to make the Window Herb Garden – IKEA Hack! and found their galvanized cutlery caddys were out of stock so I'll have to try again later.
