Use ssh -D : the Coolest ssh trick yet to get a "dynamic" SOCKS proxy for web browsing remotely (and since I use PuTTy on my work laptop I'll use this info: Dynamic SOCKS Proxy using PuTTY.) Really all I'm looking for is a simple way to get at The Daily Show when I'm traveling remote, but having fully encrypted web browsing sessions is a big bonus with some of the stupid "gated" internet access I get stuck with (the "free internet" at DIA frames ever page with adverts, this will help avoid them.)
