Unix Horror Stories. I've done a few of these things, especially with rm. Fortunately it was always on my home Linux machine.     #>

Food Timeline. When people started eating what (roughly obviously it's not super-precise...)     #>

Hands On: Optoma and 3M Pico Projectors Face Off. That would be kinda cool, to have a little projector for hotel rooms and such when I travel.     #>

Speed Riding Video From NG Adventure Blog. This video was part of the Boulder Adventure Film Fest last month, was worth seeing (especially from the beginning where they climb, earning their turns the whole way.)     #>

yesterday's date in perl. That's just darn handy how he distilled it to a one-liner.     #>

Dmv drivers license prank part 2. I like the third one, he looks terrified, I can't believe they kept that photo and didn't re-shoot it.     #>

Greasemonkey script goes minimalist on Google Reader. Nice, anything that can eliminate vertical clutter is good for me. My laptop screen has a terrible vertical resolution (960 pixels I think?) requiring scrolling for everything. Why the hell can't they make screens with 1200 pixels height anymore? They are so very rare...     #>

Interface Design Inspiration - 36 Clean Comment Form designs. One of those things I should work on for this site...     #>

Cleano cleans your temp files every time you login. I know some people who could really use this...     #>

FormatFactory. Easy conversion of video and audio files (think converting movies to iPod format). Donation-ware.     #>

Google Earth Tours, set to music... I liked DANGER Z0NE - Google Earth:

zfs tutorial part 1, Learning to use ZFS, Sun's new filesystem. ZFS is in use at my company so it's always worth learning more about it.     #>

Radio Beta, find and listen to radio stations from around the world (that are broadcasting online). My mom was telling me the other day that the Shoutcast listing of Oldies I'd sent her had a lot of stations that play 80's tunes, she's more looking for 50's and 60's. I figure she'll find one in Thailand or something that will play exactly what she wants (actually listening to one in Belgium right now that is probably close to what she is looking for.)

I also like the name of the site. I don't know if it's related, but in the climbing world "beta" is information, usually about an unknown route. So if you walk up to a climb and a local who's been on it plenty starts telling you all the tricks and tips, you thank them for the "beta". Like I said, not sure if that was their intention with the name, but it does work.     #>

Masking out hairs using Alpha Channels photoshop tutorial. A technique worth practicing for the work I do (hate it when I get hair above and beyond the seamless background...)     #>

Talking SOAP With Exchange. No immediate use but good to know.     #>

Amazon is doing a deal where I (and other "associates") get 6% of the Amazon gift card purchase. If you were going to get one for someone anyway why not use the link and earn me a buck or two. Thanks.     #>
